Tim Nicosia Licensed Acupuncturist, is a spiritual artist, dedicated clinician, powerful healer and loving father and husband.
He always felt a deep connection to nature, having grown up near the Freeman Ranch just outside of San Marcos, Texas.
The son of two teachers, Tim followed their lead and began working with “at risk” youth in both residential and wilderness programs. It was during this time that he realized there was a disconnect between people and nature, and he began to explore ways to help people in his community to begin to reconnect with the rhythms and wisdom of the natural world.
Tim gained valuable experience with nutrition while living and working at the raw food healing center – The Optimum Health Institute – between Austin and Bastrop.
It was while working in the raw food center that he realized that even with changes to diet and exercise on a physical level, some critical puzzle piece was still missing for many people.
This led Tim to a 3 year residency in Santa Fe, NM working with an energy healer. During this time, he learned deep wisdom about how to help people connect and heal on a mental, emotional, and spiritual level. The energy work was very subtle and introduced him to the power of holistic medicine.
It was shortly after this experience that Tim discovered Chinese Medicine and acupuncture, which he realized was the missing piece he’d been looking for.
The foundational text in Chinese Medicine, The Huang di Neijing, talks about the origins of the medicine. In ancient times the people lived in harmony with nature and the natural rhythms and cycles. As civilization advanced, the people lost the natural way and acupuncture and herbal medicine was created to treat the ills of the people.
Upon reading this, Tim realized this was the missing piece he had been searching for (and he was equally astonished that people have been having the same struggles for over 3,000 years)!
Tim graduated from AOMA Graduate School of Integrative Medicine with a Masters of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in 2011 and worked as an acupuncturist in Austin for 3 years. He is ever grateful to have helped many people in that community.
In 2014, Tim moved with his family to New Braunfels to open a new acupuncture clinic. He currently practices there helping people with insomnia, hormonal issues, fibromyalgia, and peripheral neuropathy, as well as many general medical complaints.
Tim’s core belief is that this medicine has the ability to transform individuals, families, and the community in a deep and profound way. He is inspired to help all who come to him for care.
